FRsin Releases Airbus A.300-600 Kits

Shortly before the IPMS (UK) Nationals, FRsin announced the imminent release of their latest limited run injection moulded plastic kit, the Airbus A.300-600.  It has now been released with six separate livery options as follows:

The kit comprises a new fuselage, fin and stabs by FRsin, combined with parts purchased from Revell Germany from their A.300-600ST ‘Super Transporter’ kit – wings, engines and landing gear.  This is a complete kit, not a conversion kit.

Engines provided (as said, the Revell Germany parts) are a pair of GE CF6-80C2 turbofans.  The A.300-600 (and similar 600R) were delivered either with these GE engines, or a pair of PW4158’s.  BraZ offers a pair of the PW’s as BZ4001.

Vintage Flyer has released 5 Tristar decals

While writing the post announcing the TwoSix / Evfd-225-hawaiian-air-l1011astern Express Tristar kits yesterday, I remembered that I had not posted anything about the recently released  Vintage Flyer Tristar decals.  So, let’s fix that.

Vintage Flyer continues their trend of releasing decals for early widebodies with five sheets for the L.1011 Tristar, in 1/144 and 1/200 scales.  In 1/144, the ‘A’ version of the decals are for the Authentic airliners resin kit.  They are:

TwoSix / Eastern Express Tristars

We have placed an order for a selection of the recently released TwoSix 1/144 scale L.1011 Tristar 1 kits, expected here late this week.

The kit is the Eastern Express kit, packaged with a TwoSix screen printed or laser printed decal.  TwoSix initially offered 10 kit and decal combinations, and at our request, have made 3 more available.

Ttsm44-010-kit-tristar_kit-whe Eastern Express Tristar is widely believed to have been patterned from the famous 1/144 scale Otaki Tristar kit, which is accepted as the most accurate injection moulded styrene plastic 1/144 scale L.1011 kit ever made. It is not, however, a direct copy, and the parts breakdown (for example the rear fuselage  is provided as separate parts) is different. It lacks locating pins for mating the fuselage halves, wing halves and stab halves, making assembly a little more challenging.

TwoMikes resin 1/144 scale 707 nose is back!

Good news!  TTM144-001-Boeing-707-Nose-BwoMikes has resumed resin parts production, and at our request, has reintroduced the 707 nose.  My first new batch will be here next week.

This part is made for the Minicraft 707 kits, and is a complete replacement of the entire forward fuselage, as shown.

Flying Colors Releases 1/144 Scale Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300ER Decal

FC44-055-SIA-B777-300ER-WFlying Colors announced the release of sheet FC44-055, a Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300ER decal.  It is designed for the Zvezda kit, and as the Revell kit is a licensed release of the Zvezda kit, it will fit it equally well.

The decal comprises two sheets, and provides full titles, tail logos, stripes, and a lot of small details.

In an effort to save production costs, Flying Colors does not provide an instruction sheet with the decal, instead expecting the customer top download and print a three page instruction sheet themselves.  Personally, not an economy I can agree with, so I have printed and inserted a full set of full size instruction sheets into every decal in my stock.

Welsh Models Arrivals

We received the following new Welsh Models kits this week.  Increasingly now, the Welsh kits are, at most, contain vacuform parts only for the fuselage, and comprise resin parts for the rest of the model.  Some, and especially smaller aircraft, are now all resin, making them easier to build.  These three models are resin, and include decals by DRAW Decal.

Tamiya Announces 1/100 scale Embraer 175 !!!

A “First” for Tamiya – their first Tamiya Emb175 Fuji Dream RedAirliner!  For many years, I have examined Tamiya’s outstanding military aircraft models, lamenting that it would be so great if they would release an airliner model of similar quality, accuracy and detail.  Well, it’s here.

Tamiya announced kit TAM92197 at a recent hobby show in Japan, showing two completed models in the supplied “Fuji Dream Airlines” markings.

At the Tamiya Emb175 Fuji Dream Yellowtime of writing, the number of parts is not available.  Tamiya does say the kit will be moulded in white plastic, with clear cockpit and cabin windows.  A large decal will be included that allows the modeller to build any one of the first 10 E.175’s in the very colourful Fuji Dream Tamiya Emb175markings.
The Japanese web sites are suggesting a July 2016 release.  The Tamiya US web site says the Suggested Retail price will be $42, but gives no expected availability date.
