releases from Roden, FRsin, and to lesser extent Zvezda, I am being more selective which Welsh releases I stock. Too many Viscounts, Britannias, Comets, Il.18s, Il.62s, Tu154, Constellations, Boeing 720s, DC-8’s and Caravelles went unsold when injection moulded (easier to build, cheaper) were announced and hit the market. Welsh does make excellent kits, and for years Densil and his team have filled the many gaps.

astern Express Tristar kits yesterday, I remembered that I had not posted anything about the recently released Vintage Flyer Tristar decals. So, let’s fix that.

he Eastern Express Tristar is widely believed to have been patterned from the famous 1/144 scale Otaki Tristar kit, which is accepted as the most accurate injection moulded styrene plastic 1/144 scale L.1011 kit ever made. It is not, however, a direct copy, and the parts breakdown (for example the rear fuselage is provided as separate parts) is different. It lacks locating pins for mating the fuselage halves, wing halves and stab halves, making assembly a little more challenging.
woMikes has resumed resin parts production, and at our request, has reintroduced the 707 nose. My first new batch will be here next week.
