X-Scale 1/144 scale Hawker Siddely 121 Trident 1C is here!

X-Scale Models (Ukraine) has released their second all new kit, this time the British Hawker Siddely 121 Trident 1C.

24 were built, all for British European Airways. Only 23 entered service, as the 24th (G-ARPY) was lost in an ‘deep stall’ accident before delivery.  The first was delivered in August 1965, the last in in July 1966, and flew exclusively for the airline and subsequently British Airways until their retirement in the mid 70s.

One airframe (G-ARPO) remains, preserved at the North East Land Sea and Air Museum in Sunderland, painted in Northeast Airlines (UK) markings. A little ‘poetic licence’ here, as Northeast never flew the 1C. Their Tridents were both series 1E, which were the same length, but featured an increased wing span, an uprated Spey engine, and larger fuel tanks for longer range.

26 Decal has released screen printed decals for both BEA schemes, and one for British AIrways (with both British Airways and British titles). The kit can be ordered from AHS with your choice of the three decals.
