Revell Germany Airbus A.321NEO and A.321NEO kits are getting closer!

Revell Germany is inching closer to releasing their long anticipated Airbus A.320NEO and A.321NEO kits, with information finally on their web site.

The A.320NEO (kit RV3942) will consist of 51 parts, some 9 fewer than their A.320CEO kits (Current Engine Option).  This lends credence to the speculation that this kit will not include landing gear, and Revell makes no mention in their description.  The illustration suggests that marking for Lufthansa will be provided.

The Euro Suggested Retail Price will be 19.99 Euro, a 33% increase over their currently available “CEO” versions (Air Berlin and Etihad) which both have SRP of 14.99 Euro.   This will probably translate to a US$ price in the $22 range for the NEO kit, though this is speculation, as the US importer has not made pricing known.

There is no firm indication whether the engines provided will be CFM International Leap-1A engines, or Pratt & Whitney PW1100G geared turbofan engines.  Lufthansa’s fleet to date is PW powered, so most likely these will be the engines in this release.

Release date in Europe is given as “week 40 2019”, which suggests the early to mid October.  No US availability date is known at this time.

Kit RV4952 will be the Airbus A.321NEO, which will comprise of 68 parts.  Revell Germany does say in their online description that “detailed undercarriage” will be included.  The illustration on the Revell web site suggests the kit will appear with Airbus ‘house’ markings as carried by the first 321NEO.

The Euro Suggested Retail Price will be 24.99 Euro.   While Revell does have an excellent A.321CEO kit, it has not been available for some time so price comparison is not possible.  This will probably translate to a US$ price in the $28 range for the NEO kit, though again this is speculation, as the US importer has not made pricing known.

There is no firm indication whether the engines provided will be CFM International Leap-1A engines, or Pratt & Whitney PW1100G geared turbofan engines.  Airbus aircraft have obviously flown with both, so for now we will have to wait and see.

Release date in Europe is given as “week 45 2019”, which suggests early to mid November.  No US availability date is known at this time.
