The recently announced Boeing 727-100 kit by CRM has been released and is in stock. It joins their previously released Boeing 727-200 kit.

The new kit while similar to the -200, has been improved in a number of areas.

First, the fuselage and clear window strips have been improved to allow better and smoother fit. Two sets of window strips are provided for the left side forward cabin, for a straight passenger aircraft, and for a freight door equipped ‘combi’ aircraft. The fin is updated with the oval #2 intake that was a hallmark of the -100.

The wings have been redesigned to improve the fit, and of course to provide the different wing root fairings aft of the wings.

There are a few less obvious improvements to the wings and landing gear in particular.

The decal provided is for an aircraft operated by the United States Air Force. While this is a very plain scheme, the decal does include a good selection of ‘detail’ decals, Used in conjunction with an after market decal, it should allow for a nicely finished model.
