In early October, XScale released their new 1/144 scale Douglas DC-8-61 kit, building on their previous DC-8-30 and DC-8-50 kits. The kit has been released with a decal for United Airline’s ‘Saul Bass’ livery.

Most of the sprues are identical to the DC-8-50 kit, with the obvious exception of the fuselage. As XScale is limited in the length of parts that can be moulded, the -61 fuselage is provided in four pieces.
